I don't think I have had as much fun recently as I did a few nights ago while fishing my local club pond. With just a float rod, maggots and a few worms you can have the most enjoyable day, and the other great thing is you never no what your going to catch, perch, rudd, roach, crucians and tench are just some of the species that may appear in your net at the end of the day.
To much is written about success, lbs and oz's which has detracted from the reason we go fishing in the first place ( TO HAVE FUN ). I am no different from other anglers, I to have my own dreams of monsters, every angler has some monster they dream about but, slowly you can find yourself moving away from the fun side of fishing and drive yourself crazy in attempted to catch a big fish.
I am not saying go pond fishing all the time but, a day here and there will remind you why you took up this wonderful sport we indulge in. After a days pond fishing you will never leave the waterside disappointed that you never caught the biggest fish in there, you will leave refreshed,your batteries recharged, once again ready to go in search of your monster.
