Welcome to Piscatoribus Sacrum

Piscatoribus Sacrum (PS) is a new venture, built on the foundations of a previous entity known as “Pure Piscator”, which became dormant in late 2009. Like PP, this new collection of fishing ephemera is produced by a disparate group of angling n’er-do-wells, covering every facet of the sport - saltwater and fresh, coarse, game or sea, traditional and modern - and also every skill level. The one thing they all share is a boundless enthusiasm for angling. Some of them were found at the bottom of a filing cabinet when the PP office was decommissioned, and so have been transferred over, and some new ones have joined. They are still called The Work Party.

PS aims to reflect the positive side of angling, its purer virtues and broad appeal. We are reminded, too, in an angst-ridden and sometimes thoughtless world, that a little bankside etiquette goes a very long way. Here you will find instructive, thoughtful, entertaining or purely whimsical writings, and we hope that, in the times you are unable to actually get out and fish, you will enjoy a little online companionship.

PS if any former Work Party members want to re-join and haven’t been contacted, please get in touch by emailing editorial@piscatoribus.co.uk
